December 21st- Chemotherapy delayed again

Bill is acting more like himself each day. For example, he is challenging my opinion, telling me how to drive, smiling, just feeling better, and I love it. His body and mind are finally recovering from the Nov 4th round of chemo. Amen.
We visited the cancer clinic today and the injection into his spinal fluid has been delayed until next Friday. His next round of Consolidation chemo is rescheduled for the first week of January. The doctor wants his body to recover another week. Without chemo, he is going to feel almost “normal” by the end of the month.
Bill actually went to work for a couple hours on Wednesday and Thursday this week, and he plans to go back next week also. He even went Christmas shopping for me. Since he isn’t allowed to go to a mall, I just dropped him off in front of a jewelry store and told him I would be back in 20 minutes. It worked. He was carrying a small package when I picked him up!
We are scheduled to visit MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston on January 22, 2008. This will be a week long consultation and exam. They have already agreed that Bill is a candidate for a transplant, but want to confirm that he is healthy enough to survive any complications.
We have decided once again to pursue Fred Hutchison Cancer Center in Seattle. They are doing some clinical studies there that pertain to Bill’s situation. An interview date has not been scheduled.

Our prayers are still for a bone marrow donor to become available. In this season of Christmas we know miracles happen and prayers are answered. Amen

Hi Nancy & Bill,
GREAT to hear Bill is feeling like himself. I was hoping you would say he came out with two small packages and needed to stop and mail one. Hey Bill, you know there isn't a Santa here at my house anymore and you must spread your gifts around, especially those diamonds. I'm sure Kari, Jeff and Andrew have brightened the Huber house by now. This is one year I am really running behind. I haven't worked all week because of a sinus infection. The Dr. gave me antibiotics and cough syrup. I am now beginning to perk again. Have lots of things to do with very little time.
Tell all the Huber Clan "Hello" for me. I really am mailing cards this year. Hannah downloaded them on the computer and sent to www.walgreens.com. All I had to do was take the money and pick them up. See how grandchildren function when they get older. Just think what John's child will be able to do!

Miss You,
Mary Jo

Glad Bill was up to going to the jewely store. My ring size is 5, just for general info. SOOOOOOOO glad he is feeling closer to normal. That will make Christmas more like it should be. Can't wait ot hear stories from you guys. All of you in one place with diapers, dogs, and dirty dishes. What a sight!!! It's great to know there are several centers to check out for treatments. You are getting the benefit of many smart people. God Bless them for their sacrifices so that you guys will get the best, newest treatments.
Be sure to post the pictures of your holiday. Can't wait to see them. Love all you guys,
Becky

Challenging your very thoughts? Giving advice on driving? Not my brother!! So good to hear someone has some normalacy in their lives!! Things are hectic here - a good hectic, and a Christmas baby is a wonderful added attraction!! Landon is beautiful - I think he looks like his daddy, but I may be a little prejudiced! I am glad that all options are being considered. You know, God does work in mysterious ways, so we have to let Him guide!

Have a wonderful holiday - Those little angels give a whole new meaning to Christmas!

Love, prayers, and good health,
Gail

Wow what wonderful news. I can't believe he went shopping.. I have trouble getting Mark to shop. I am so pleased you will be surrounded by family, esp. those darling grandchildren. Give our love to your family, and know you continue to be in our prayers.

So glad you are feeling more like your old self. I guess now that means you will be harassing me again.

You better be nice to your chauffeur because anyone willing to drive in Chicago's traffic deserves a kind word or two.

Hope your family arrived safely. Kill the little"angels" for me.

Merry Christmas!
Hope to talk to you soon.
Love and praying often

Boy Nancy, you realy know how to take advantage of a guy. Just drop him off in front of a jewelry store and tell him you will be back to pick him up in 20 minutes. And you do this just before Christmas. Glad Bill is feeling better. Good idea for consultations. Merry Christmas.

To Nancy and Bill and all extended Hubers,
Merry Christmas!!! Bill, I am amazed and yet happy to hear that you went back to work for a few days last week! You are one tough guy. And apparently a great husband (jewelry is always appreciated by wives)!

I'm looking forward to hear your treatment updates; I certainly don't envy all the decisions you have to make. Although maybe that's because I'm a Libra.

Take care, and have a wonderful holiday!

Love,
Janet and John

BTW, the cat chewed through one of the wires of our pre-wired Christmas tree, but I finally found a way around it. So the tree is back, just in time for Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I hope your holiday has been full of fun and family. We want pictures of the gift from the jewelry store. I may use that next time--give Jim a choice--jewelry store or mall...hmm...interesting.
We love you and continue our prayers.
