January 8th- Just an Update

Bill came home on Sunday. His blood work is just a little below normal. He is very tired and is taking a much need nap. But just two days ago he was on the treadmill and walking around the block. His energy level can drop so quickly.
The last round of chemotherapy did it’s job on the Leukemia cutis. The rash is just about gone and we hope we don’t see it again for a few weeks.
Today, Bill received another injection into the Ommaya Reservoir (the port on the top of his head), and will receive another on Friday. This chemo injection is keeping the blasts under control in is CSF (Central Spinal Fluid).
We have temporarily canceled the visit to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The doctor thinks it will be too soon for him to travel. But we are all booked for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle for January 30th and 31st. Returning home on February 1st. So far they have been wonderful to work with.
I hope to have some information on a potential donor real soon. The bone marrow transplant team meets on Friday and they have indicated there may be some news. I hope they will share this news with us.
Please continue to pray for Bill and his potential donor. I know the Lord is listening, we just have to remember who is in charge.
Love you.

ALWAYS hoping and praying for the best. Enjoy Seattle - have a martini at Frazier's favorite bar, Becky and I did that but I forgot the name of the bar but it is in a hotel somewhere in Seattle so that information should help you find it. Also go to the fish market where they throw fish at you, I forgot the name of it but it is a fish market in Seattle so that should help you find it. I am so glad that I could be of such help to you guys. STAY UP!!!!!

So thankful for the care that is being given - at the cancer center, but especially at home. God does work in mysterious and miraculous ways. Good things do happen, somtimes in spite of us!

Enjoy that trip to Seattle!

Love, prayers, and good health,
Gail

You guys hang in there! Hopefully good news will follow soon and we can all celebrate the news of a donor. John looks as if he has Andrew under control. It's a shame he doesn't live closer to Jeff and Kari. I'm sure they would let him practice babysitting more often. Janine and Don might like him to visit also. All parents need a break.
Bill, lots of prayers are going up for you and Nancy so keep your chin up and take it a day at a time.

Love to all,
Mary Jo

Thanks again for the update, Nancy! Whether it's good news or not so good news, it helps to hear what's going on. I know you're not going to be gone that long, but if you need anything (like dinner when you come back?), send me an email and let me know!

Keep napping and gaining your strength. Eat your veggies too.

We will continue to pray for a donor to be found soon and for you too, Nancy, to keep up your strength. Hope the weather cooperates for your trip to Seattle.

Thinking of you two often and always praying,

Love,
Paula and Jim

Sorry but I can not resist the opening that Jon left on his picture with him and Andrew stating - "This is easy". The only comment I could make is Jon, I thought you were smarter than to make such assumptions based upon your observations of your surroundings.
