Sept 17- evening update

Just a quick update.

The culture showed that Bill has the infection, Clostridium, or in the medical world, C-DIFF. It is very common in hospitals when a patient is on high doses of antibiotics and has a weak immune system. He will be isolated (private room) until he has recovered, but he is not in any danger.

Bill had a GREAT day. Good nights rest, worked on the computer, and TOOK A SHOWER. His first shower since August. Think about that one.

I feel better too, guess I was worried about him.

Your prayers are working again. Thanks for staying in touch on the website.

Bill and Nanc,
WooHoo - Let's all do the happy dance! Where there is one good day, you'll find another! A shower? Did you ever think that that would be something to celebrate? I'll bet everyone around you is REALLY happy about that one!!
So good to hear your voice - Mom is relieved every time she hears it - me too!
Keep up the good work and maybe they'll let you take another shower!
Love, Gail

Bill and Nancy,
Just want you to know I'm thinking about you and keep you in my prayers. So glad that today was a great day. As I know too well we take one day at a time.
Here's to more showers!
Love to you both, Donna O.

Bill & Nancy,
Sounds as if things are looking up for Bill. There have been a lot of prayers going up for him so I'm not surprised that he is getting a little stronger. Keep that chin up and your spirits high. You will be out of there soon.

Love to all,
Mary Jo

Bill,
All the best to you. All of your friends at the law firm are pulling for you. Next time we meet I'll explain how I wound up in Manila for the next 2 years.

Uncle Bill & Aunt Nancy
Always glad to hear your keeping clean.
And as all nurses would say Wash Your Hands...as a patient you have that right to tell everyone who walks in and out to wash their hand before and after they touch you. Be proactive!
Hope their are more good days to come.
Love you,
E.B.

BTY - I think Don and Janine look alike - ever heard that before? Bill - did you have to use a putty knife to get the stuff after your shower free time. Man that must have been ugly. I better not take that one any further. Hope that you kick the intection bug so you can get ready for the next round. As you can imagine in KTown, everyone is ready to fire Fulmer and the staff. It is so entertaining to listen to all the call in coaches. I keep sending those prayers up my friend. Hope that you get a get out of jail card soon.

Yes, David, we've heard that one before. We're just getting a jump on that old saying that the longer you're with someone the more you look alike. Poor Becky :)

Dad - Maggie gets her 6 month immunizations today - so another Huber will get pricked and prodded for once this month!
Mom - Take a nap!!!!
Love to both, Janine

Praise God for the good news of last night - especially the good night's sleep! It was great to see Nancy on Sunday! I can only imagine at this point how wonderful it is going to be when Bill is back with us at Questors. We are already reserving the best seat in the house for you during the Super Bowl. You both continue in our prayers. Love, Jan & Bill

Bill and Nancy,
All best thoughts and prayers are with you both, as your news continues to be positive. I am marking the days (16) until I'm eligible to donate blood for Bill! (though maybe he won't need it by then?) Please know there's a lot of strength out here for you.

Bill and Nancy,
Glad to hear that they were able to identify the infection so early on! And if the perk is to have your own room....! Although with the computer, it's almost like having hundreds of people there with you (with the added benefit of being able to kick us out whenever you want to). Hang in there, both of you. You've been so strong and brave so far. Hopefully, the worst is behind you!

Becky's idea of watching movies was a good one. We have a portable DVD player and lots of DVD's should you like to watch any!

Take care,
Janet and John

Bill and Nancy -
Thanks so much for the updates on the blogspot. We're thinking of you and praying for you every day. Hang in there and keep celebrating the days. Shower or no shower, Vols win or Vols lose, you've got a lot of people hoping and praying that all your days are "10's".

Bill and Nancy,
Good to know that Nancy got you to take a shower!! The updates and reports from Nancy help us keep up with the latest. One of the first things we do when arriving home is get to the computer for our daily updates. We look forward to hearing how you are doing. Both of you continue to be in our prayers. Take each day as it comes and keep working hard. All our love!

Hi Bill and Nancy,
Nancy, first want to say that your Michelin man suit is charming. I'm sure that makes Bill laugh to hear you coming in that! Bill, our prayers are with you and we know you'll win. Especially since now you can take showers.

We're watching for the next update.

Bill,
For you VOL'S (Jon/Bill etc), instead of waiting for basketball, Tennessee should play Notre Dame in football. That could be the right pill and Tennessee would get better.
Now that thats taken care of, we now need to work on Bill. Positive thinking and praying! It is sooooo good to hear the good news, keep it up Bill! Nancy, you are always in our thoughts to. We pray for your continued strength, you are an inspiration to all of us.

Bill,
Got to thinking about this shower thing, Remember when you only washed the fronts of your hands when it was dinner time. I hope when you showered that you washed all of you.

Bill and Nancy,
So happy to hear your good report on my first visit to the blog. I hear you're going to be grandparents again! Congratulations, and tell your daughter who never checks email that I said hi. :)
I'll be in Chicago next week--not long enough for a visit, but I will certainly be thinking of you both. Hope you can come visit in Phoenix when you are well!
Blessings,
Erin (Smallwood) Wathen
