Sept 26- The Numbers are Rising

Bill/Dad’s blood work just kept getting better as the day went on. His platelet count was so good, he did not receive any platelets today. Which also means he didn’t get any Demerol in the morning before the platelets. This means he was more alert and his speech was not as labored. The numbers will probably drop on Thurs, but that is okay. They will go up and down for the next few days. Then rise quickly (or so they tell us). The next step is to eliminate the antibiotics by IV for a couple of days, and then he will be ready to come home next week.

Here are the numbers:
Wed morning- White- 2,300 HGB- 8.1 Platelets- 24,000
Wed afternoon- White- 4,900 HGB- 8 Platelets- 43,000 ANC- 400

You are really good at praying. Keep up the good work. Someone must be listening.
I won’t have any news for the next few days. Same old thing. Numbers go up…numbers come down. I’ll let you know when we are home (Oh what a nice word.)

No grandbaby yet. He is due any day. Kari had her last day of work on Tuesday. She is taking a much needed rest before the big day.

Such good news! The next step has been taken! And getting ready for more! Up and down - sounds like Bill's bloodwork is at Kennywood riding the Jack Rabbit! Good things come to those who wait they always say! No Demerol - hey, Bill, hope the real world is what you remember it being like! Now you will know if it is real or memorex! Baby Andrew was just waiting for Grandpap to get better! Can't wait for more good news!

Keep us posted!

Love, prayers, and good health!

Can somebody put a run-chart together so I can track all these numbers?

Glad things are progressing.

I agree with Jon. Please,in your spare time, put these numbers on a spread sheet for us. You can use Excel. Also, why don't you chart and compre each day so we can get a quick look without having to think too hard about the numbers. I would like to know what you are eating each day, so Quickbooks would be OK for this. If not, just sleep!!!!
Love you both,
Becky

So far baby Andrew is still snug as a bug. It's rumored that a couple women have gone into labor after eating at our local PizzaHut. So I think tonight may include pizza and a long walk. Glad all the numbers are up! Keep up the good work Dad!

Tell Kari to rest up for Andrew.

'nurse nancy" Thanks for always keeping us informed.

Take care and I'll keep praying

I am with Jon and Becky. We should track the data to develope a correlation coefficient between days of the week, hours of the day, and medications with results from the data. This will allow us to determine the interdependence of the variables. We will have to have an algarythm to allow for processing time in the body. I am sure that Ninner can do this in her spare time.

P.S. - glad to see that things are looking up and that the right things are going up.
