October 23- Tuesday at the Cancer Clinic

October 23
I had another chemo treatment through the Ommaya Reservoir today with no ill effects. For those of you with a noon over/under, we were in the car on the way home at 12:55PM. My blood counts have been low from the previous chemo and I have been getting transfusions of platelets almost daily. I hope that my energy levels will increase in the next day or two. I am scheduled for another treatment on Friday afternoon and a trip to the dermatologist. We start at 12:30PM so we should be done around 5:00PM. Please send your comments relating to a 5:00 PM over/under for completing the treatment. The person coming closest to the actual completion time will become the official Bill Huber blog site Loyola Cancer Center treatment schedule predictor and entitled to all of the benefits that go along with the title, which are too numerous to mention at this time.

I thank you again for all of your interest and comments and look forward to reading the next day’s comments and bestowing the title of schedule predictor on the deserving individual.

May God wrap His loving arms around you and your loved ones,
Bill

Well I guess I will be the first predictor. It's friday, so I'm guessing not until 6:37pm!!!! Being in the medical field, Fridays are always crazy. There are always unexpected things that happen that back up the process. However, if things are running in a timely manner I say 5:46pm!!!

Hope God gives you strength!
Thinking and Praying for you!

Love ya,
E.B.

I am sticking with a nice round number 6:00.

Hope th chemo treatment goes off without a hitch.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,
Paula and Jim

I never win at anything, so I'm not even going to venture a guess! All the rewards given to the winner will be with my blessings! Good to know that Round 2 went uneventfully. Uneventful is good! And I am sure that eventually your energy level will rise - just don't tell Nancy when it does because I am sure the "Honey-Do" list is growing as we speak!

We are starting our countdown to the wedding - all is going well, just waiting for that one thing that throws the monkey wrench into the works! Will miss you all, and I am sure Marty will have a drink for each and every one of you!

Think of you often - prayers as often.

Love, prayers, and good health,
Gail

Hi Bill and Nancy!

Since you're going in for treatment on Friday, I expect you to be finished early since everyone wants to go home for the weekend! Just joking; E.B. probably hit it closer to the mark.

My brother Bill (the computer programmer, who finds all sorts of strange and funny things on the internet) turned me on to a website that you may find amusing, www.icanhascheezburger.com. There are pages, and pages, and pages of cute/funny pics to go through, so if you're bored at home, this will keep you occupied for awhile.

I'm so glad to hear that today went smoothly. Here's hoping your energy goes up sooner rather than later!

Take care,
Janet and John

OK, I am a chat room failure. I'll have to get my son-in-law over to help me. We have good news, Luke found out on Fri. that he passed the Bar exam, so he and Margaret are very happy.

I am glad things are still going as scheduled. You got thru today and good luck on Fri. As always we think positive and loving thoughts about you.

Not long ago our preacher did a sermon called Crown of Suffering--Crowns of Glory. I took lots of notes, some info. I treasure "A person of hope can still hear the music through suffering" Our trials are not meaningless-our lives are a journey to be lived with a God who can share our suffering with us. With God the worst things are never the last things. I'll share more of it later.
Take care, love to you both,
Pat

Thank you Pat for your touching words. They are great thoughts to remember.
Gail and Marty- Enjoy the wedding and the party. We sure wish we could be there. I'll be calling over the weekend to get all the details.
I'm betting we are out of the clinic by 4:30pm. It's Friday, and no one wants to work late.
Love you all,
Nancy

Ok...so I am late, but I am picking 6:31, becuase I don't know why I picked it, but that's what time it is here now. Hope it goes well....keep thinking about you and checking every morning. I have to decide each morning to check my sales or read your Blog. Guess what I read about you before I check the coffee business.

Keep your spirit...

Love, Joe and Suzanne

Good morning, Dad!
For the record, I'm going to be optimistic and say 5:22.
We're busy getting ready for our big road trip to Charlotte tomorrow. Here's hoping Maggie does well in the car for 9 1/2 hours!
We'll take lots of pictures of your two grandchildren together for the first time.
While we're betting - do you want to bet if Maggie and Andrew's feet are the same size despite the 6 1/2 month age difference?
Have a great day!
Lots of love, Janine

SOOOO glad things went well. Things now are on the upswing. My estimate is 8:30. This tells you how slow the drs. are here in Tn. At least get home in time to watch Las Vegas!!!! Things OK here.David goes to Vandy Fri to have an electrical test on his nerve. He can have the permanent surgery Mar 1, 08. Good luck Friday. Love you.

5:45 is my guess. I would sure like the title of LCCT schedule predictor!! It is good to see your sense of humor shining through Bill.
Some good news on our end, no strike at HLC. We have reached an agreement with the union...YEA! We are in the clear for 5 more years.
Love you both, Jeannie

Okay, I'll go with 6:20pm. As for Janine's comment - since Andrew's wearing 6mo socks, I'm going to bet that Andrew's feet are probably bigger than Maggie's. Glad all is well. Good luck keeping up your enery Dad.

I say you will be leaving on or before 4:25 am. David Eaker

Just kidding on the 4:25 am. I am saying 4:25 pm. David Eaker

On the Chat Room - I have been there about 8 times and have never seen anyone there but me. I will admit that I have never been in a chat room before because I basically think they are dumb but what do I know. I said that TN would beat AL. David Eaker

I need to tell Michael we are betting here for a title. I am going to be the most optimistic of them all and say 3:56 pm.
I am also so excited to see more pictures of baby Andrew and more pictures of Maggie.
Still praying for you,
Melissa

Hi Bill & Nancy,
It's so good to know Bill still has his sense of humor. I am late as usual but I am saying you will be finished at 4:45 P.M. How's that for getting home early. I usually get home from work at 4:45 A.M. Anytime you get finished will be better than my schedule. My KY Team let me down last week in Florida. They are very unpredictable as you know by now.
I don't think you will want me as your schedule predictor the shift I am awake would not make your friends happy campers.
Love to all,
Mary Jo

I really enjoy this blog business. I have come to enjoy all of your friends and neighbors,as well as, our family's humor and their seriousness.

Hope Friday is uneventful...

Jim will send you some pictures of the wedding from our new digital camera I'll enjoy the steak for you. Excuse me, fillet mignon.

Jim also got a new red, red truck.

Thinking of you often and praying too.
Love,
Paula

Hopefully, no news is good news since we haven't heard from you in a few days. It stinks that you have to be so careful with bacteria, fungus, and mold, but at least since Nancy is so super clean, you probably don't come across any of things anyway! Best of luck tomorrow. Make sure to bring good reading material just in case.

Talk to you soon,
Janet and John
