October 9th - Orderly Jon

Well... Nancy (Mom) is off in Charlotte being a Grandmom with Kari's new bundle of joy. Hence, why I'm up in Chicago daddy-sitting and in control of the blog.

The second round of chemo has started (ARA-C). The hospital was running a bit late, we arrived at 8am, but chemo didn't begin until 5pm... it will end around 6am Wednesday. Today, bloodwork was good, but I don't have any numbers... or a run chart... maybe tomorrow.

While Dad's bloodwork is holding steady, the doctors are concerned about his energy level. He is too lethargic for this stage of chemo, and at times he has trouble completing his thoughts. With so many factors contributing to his condition, a defined diagnosis has not been determined. A MRI is scheduled to dive deep into Dad's inner thoughts. I'm hoping an analysis will be provided in the next couple of days.

If you can find anything that delves into anyone's inner most thoughts, let me know! It will surely help my business! Orderly Jon is doing a good job keeping us informed. Sometimes when we are not up to par, our brains are not up to par either! And some of us never have brains up to par and get along in spite of it!

Keep us posted -

Love, prayers, and good health,
Gail

Jon, thanks for contributing to the blog to keep us all informed! I was worried that there wouldn't be an update for a week, but I guess I should have known better. :)

Bill, hang in there! One step at a time.... I've heard that the chemo can make it difficult to focus sometimes but that things normalize after a few months. Funny that having kids seems to have a similar effect....

....What was I saying?

I hope all your favorite nurses are at the hospital tonight and that you were able to get some rest at the hospital despite their need to take your vitals every few hours. You're being such a trooper with all the treatment. Keep up the good work! As always, you are in our thoughts.

Jon,
Thanks for running the blog. You did good. I may hire you full time. Same pay as when you were living at home. Room and board. You are doing a great job keeping me informed and working with the doctors. Hope you are also learning to handle Chicago rush hour traffic. Sorry about that.
Send my love to Dad.
From "Baby Central",
Nancy/Mom

Thanks Jon - you are a good son and brother. Regarding Bill's inner thoughts - think before you ask the doctor for the results as I know there have been times that we did not want to know what he was thinking. The Huber Clan needs a few more things going on to keep you guys from getting boared.
Bill - Keep hanging in there my friend

Jon,
Thanks for the info. Bill and Nancy are blessed with a wonderful family. Bill, just get lots of chocolate. Then you don't care if you lose your train of thought or not!!! Can't wait to see the new pictures. Janine, Maggie is a perfect doll. Can't wait to see her in person.
Our love to all of your family,

Bill, wonder what they will find tucked away in your innermost thoughts. Sometimes our brains like to be lazy.

Take care and I'll keep praying,

Bill and Nancy--Jim and I are keeping you constantly in our prayers. We have missed you at our tailgates in Knoxville and look forward to seeing you next year! Your grandbabies are beautiful. Hang in there--life will be normal again! And if not, normal, at least back to the way things were!
